"Concert to Save Town Lake" Dedicated to Lady Bird Johnson.


AUSTIN, Texas -- The July 20th"Concert to Save Town Lake," organized by SaveTownLake.org as part of their effort to promote responsible development along the lakefront, will now honor the memory of Lady Bird Johnson.

Lady Bird's tireless efforts to protect and preserve the shores of Town Lake serve as the inspiration for the organization and for the many individuals who consider Town Lake to be both the literal and figurative "center" of Austin.

Unfortunately, what Lady Bird started is now being threatened by a City Government that is showing an increasing disregard for the spirit of her efforts by considering liberal variances to developers seeking to build high-rise developments in the Town Lake Waterfront corridor, said Thomas Cooke Thomas Cook or Thomas Cooke may refer to:
