* Protect an animal's health through disease prevention.

* Assure good nutrition and ready access to fresh water.

* Add no growth hormones and feed animals antibiotic-free food.

* Comply with environmental standards.

* Processors must comply with American Meat Institute The American Meat Institute is an organization composed primarily of US meat producers. It was founded in 1906 and is today located in Washington, DC. AMI provides assistance and representation for member organizations.  Standards.
