CUP said the journal was launched because of the need for a "single multidisciplinary mul·ti·dis·ci·pli·nar·y adj. Of, relating to, or making use of several disciplines at once: a multidisciplinary approach to teaching. Journal to enable researchers to keep up to date with advances in the field" and is designed to be the "journal of choice for researchers in the biofilm Biofilm An adhesive substance, the glycocalyx, and the bacterial community which it envelops at the interface of a liquid and a surface. When a liquid is in contact with an inert surface, any bacteria within the liquid are attracted to the surface and adhere field." Editorial includes research results and articles on the structure, formation and growth of biofilms, gene expression and transfer in biofilms, human and animal diseases involving biofilms, biofilms associated with soil, water, waste treatment, corrosion and marine environments, and biofilms in the food, oil and pharmaceutical industries. |
