"Associations Now" magazine launched with October issue.

The American Society of Association Executives (ASAE; Washington, D.C.) and the Center for Association Leadership (CAL; Washington, D.C.) have formed a partnership to co-publish "Associations Now" magazine beginning with an October issue. The new monthly title takes the place of ASAE's "Association Management" and CAL's "Executive Update" magazines. The new magazine has a controlled circulation of 23,000 association professionals. The last issue of "Executive Update" was published in June while the last issue of "Association Management" was produced in September.

The two organizations announced earlier this year their intention to develop and publish a single flagship publication after analysis of a publishing study conducted by media consulting firm Netburn McGill (New York). The magazine's mission is to "deliver the essential information, insights and ideas that empower you to master challenges, invoke imagination and act decisively to create a better future for your organization and the world." Editorial will include advice and profiles of successful business leaders, case studies of strategic and tactical problems faced by associations, operations, personnel and employee relations and membership issues.

CAL president/ceo Susan Sarfati said the title "is going to be a fresh, energetic and risk-taking publication." ASAE also publishes the "Journal of Association Leadership."
