"Armed" boy saves trapped puppies. (The Goodness of America).


August 9th was a hot day in Watsonville, California Watsonville is a city in Santa Cruz County, California, United States. The population was 44,265 at the 2000 census.

Like neighboring Salinas in Monterey County, Watsonville produces a variety of fruits and vegetables, primarily strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, and
. The temperature had reached 90 degrees when 9-year-old Isiah Ayala noticed two puppies in a parked car near his home. The vehicle was locked and a window was cracked only slightly. It was clear to Isiah that the small Labrador mix dogs were in serious trouble.

Fortunately, the boy was "armed" with a rifle-shaped Supersoaker water gun. He ran to the car, stuck the muzzle muzzle

Animal control personnel said that the dogs would likely have died had the quick-thinking youngster not showered them with water. Instead, they fully recovered and have since been adopted.
