"And the temple shall be built": restoring Chasam Sopher.

We believe that the Synagogue spells the survival of Judaism in America, and therefore, Chasam Sopher, together with all other Synagogues, bears the responsibility for bringing the meaning of our faith to our Jewish Community.

We see the Synagogue historically as the seat and source of Jewish survival, noting that rarely in 2000 years have Jews survived as Jews, where there was no Synagogue.

We consequently seek, in this, our Temple, to continue to transmit the faith of our fathers,, through our children-from generation to generation--as the source of strength of our life.

The Chasam Sopher Synagogue, located at 10 Clinton Street, has been the beacon of the Jewish migration to the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America.
