In October 2004, Politics Online, a premier global company providing news, tools and strategies for using the Internet in politics and public affairs, recognized Al Jazeera website among the top ten of having greatest impact on the way the internet is changing politics. In 2004 also, Al Jazeera Net was nominated for the Webby Award, which is considered as the internet Oscars.

In October 2003 "Al Jazeera Net" launched a bilingual third generation of news service, "Al Jazeera Mobile" service. This service offer Al Jazeera news and information to GSM mobile users' worldwide, through: Text or Short Messaging Service (SMS), Text & Picture with the Multi Messaging Service (MMS), the (WAP) technology, where subscribers can visit Al Jazeera Net website through their GSM. Finally, Al Jazeera Mobile introduced the Non-SMS content such as Video Streaming, which allows mobile owners to watch Al Jazeera Channel news & programs on their GSM.

Al Jazeera Mobile was launched through a number of local GSM operators in the Middle East starting with Qatar, (Qtel), as the first provider of Al Jazeera Mobile service; the UAE was the second country to benefit from this service, by cooperating with its local GSM operator, (Etisalat). Jordan followed, through its two operators "Fastlink" & "Mobilcom", Egypt, through "Vodafone", Palestine, through "Jawwal", and Yemen, through "Spacetel".
