"40 years for us, 40 dollars for you" a variation on a variation.


As you may or may not recall, The Newsletter on Newsletters conducted an advance renewal campaign last December December: see month. , in honor As a verb, to accept a bill of exchange, or to pay a note, check, or accepted bill, at maturity. In truth, it was more than an "advance renewal" because we also sent the offer to our expires and prospects lists.

We gave a deadline for renewing, "Offer ends Christmas 2004," but we didn't make it any way as prominent a part of the offer as Robert Lerose and Sheila Sheila is a common given name for a female, taken from the Gaelic name Síle/Sìle, which is believed to be a Gaelic form of Julia or Cecilia. Like "Cecil" or "Cecilia", the name means "Smart and Wise", from the Latin caecus.  Frisch did with their Cabot Heritage offer.

It was an inexpensive promotion--a one-page letter with the order form on the bottom inserted with the newsletter, plus postage POSTAGE. The money charged by law for carrying letters, packets and documents by mail. By act of congress of March 3, 1851, Minot's Statute at Large, U. S. 587, it is enacted as follows:

The second mailing, to subscribers only, brought in exactly one-third the response of the first one. Not bad at all.

One final observation: Neither we nor many of the respondents In the context of marketing research, a representative sample drawn from a larger population of people from whom information is collected and used to develop or confirm marketing strategy.  respected the deadlines. We got orders past the deadlines--the last two towards the end of February.

But I don't recommend that for larger publishers who aren't as familiar, or casual, with their constituents, and vice versa VICE VERSA. On the contrary; on opposite sides. , as we think we are.
